Arpit is a class 9 student at Wilson Academy in Kathmandu.
The day was Saturday
All the people had a holiday
All the people were relaxing.
Sabitri has completed studies in counselling and was working for Mitrataa Foundation.
It was a day of weekend
rest, sleep, eat and play
but Thursday fear of losing my loved ones began
within a minute of the day.
Shouting , screaming
by the shaking of the earthquake.
Crying, afraid and frightened faces
everybody felt lonely and disturbed
because of crowd and the heart of crying.
Suprekshya is a class 9 student at Wilson Academy in Kathmandu.
I feel unhappy, sad and it’s scary
to see people crying, shouting and helpless.
Here, I see people dying.
I see people praying,
I taste dust and dust,
I can smell gas and dead bodies,
I can see all running and some falling.
Dikshya has just completed her Diploma of Hotel Management. Her dream is to be a chef.
I heard the sound of bang bang
I touched my sister saying “lay down”
Few minutes after we are on the ground
The world stinking badly, something is wrong!
I feel panic and sadness
Thinking of responsibilities I need to do!
Sister is crying in front of me
my room turned to mess.
Jalpa has completed her class 12 studies in hotel management.
I feel this shaking will not end
I see people running here and there.
I hear screaming and crying,
but thank God, I am still alive
I feel that the earth is moving
I see the people crying and screaming .
I hear people shouting and crying.
I touch the ground to stop the earthquake,
I smell spoiled bodies of man and animals
I taste sweat and the dust particles
I run from hostel to the ground.
Oh! earthquake!
Feeling afraid, when it shakes,
On a hot day, holding the ground
hearing everybody screaming and running
and making the clouds of dust.
Where to go, where to live?
falling houses and walls.
Oh! this Earthquake
I wonder why this day comes?
every night, feeling scared to sleep.
When will this stop?
I feel sorry for people with nothing
But I think I am lucky
to live another day!

Don’t think us losers,
We will rise like a shining star.
We will rise, rise , rise,
to build our ruined place and unite.
There is not time, there is not time
with all the shaking hard to help
and all the fear to wonder through
and all the tears, hard to stop.
Kshitiz is a class 8 student at Wilson Academy in Kathmandu.
I feel worried,
I feel scared, very frightened
‘It is an earthquake’ I shouted
I saw the houses falling down.
I heard many people crying,
lots of noise.
I touched the land and it was shaking everywhere
I smelled stinky and the dusty air
Many people cried,
many died and some shouted
Oh! Earthquake
Monikais a class 10 student at Wilson Academy in Kathmandu.
I feel scared
I saw the destruction of the houses
I heard the noise of the people crying, shouting and asking for help.
I touched the door of my house and hope that the earthquake stops as fast as it can.
I smell the rotten things as well as gas
I taste dust and know it really was an earthquake.
Oh! Earthquake
I feel all the things were horrible
I see all the people screaming around.
I heard the heartbeat of every person
I touch my motherland and start to pray
I taste the nasty smell, fear and dust,
the worst day of my life.
I smell the hunger of all people
and taste the drops of tears.
Everybody has become hopeless
but I hope you will never come again
Oh! Earthquake! Oh! Earthquake!
The day when the Earth shakes
makes everyone terrified.
Each second is full of pain.
Destruction all over our world.
Rajina is a class 9 student at Wilson Academy in Kathmandu.
I feel frustrated, hopeless and very frightened
I see houses falling
people screaming and hear dogs barking
I see faces blank
I touch the ground and the pillar of the house
so that it will not fall!
I smell the gas and the peoples’ fear
I taste some dust and soil too.
Oh! Earthquake! oh! Earthquake
why did you come?
Making us feel so dumb
taking our words, making us dumb!
