It was 25th April 2015. Bec Ordish, the founder of Mitrataa Foundation, asked me to help her to run a workshop. I wanted to go, so I said “I will go with you”. The workshop was in Wilson Academy, Bafal Kathmandu, where my small brother studies. The workshop started at 11:30 am. Bec told to be there by 11, but we reached there at 11:30 so we were late but the workshop had not started. We could see that all the parents were there already. We started to run the workshop. Bec was speaking and Sarita, a student of the Mitrataa Foundation was translating in Nepali so that parents could understand. While Sarita was explaining, suddenly the ground shook and the principal of Wilson School Patrick said ”it’s an earthquake!” And we all were continuously moving. I think there were 25 people inside the small hall. When the shake happened, all the people were inside the hall. I could see one woman, a man and two daughters in the hall. We slowly went out of the hall and sat on the small ground of the school for three hours. It was a much too scary shake. I thought that would not be alive today. People around me were all worried about their family, friends and cousins. Many of them were trying to contact them, but the network didn’t work. Many of women were crying. We told them to stay calm. All the women were scared of the earthquake. The shaking was of 7.9 Richter. After 3 hours we left school and went back to our place by walking. While walking I could see many people sitting on the road. Many houses were damaged. We came to our house in Hadigaun. Our house was safe. The only thing damaged in our house was the water tank. That day we slept on the ground floor of our house.
